My name is Jennifer.  As a young adult I had the good fortune to live in Denmark as an exchange student.  Little did I know how much of an effect it would have on me, especially in regards to my attitudes about urban planning.  Every day of my life in Denmark I rode my beloved bicycle.  It was an epiphany a when I realized that it wasn’t necessary to wear spandex in order to ride a bicycle.

I am now 37 years old and the mother to three young children.   Fourteen years ago my new husband and I moved from the midwest to a studio apartment on First Hill, a neighborhood of Seattle.  We only had one car, a Honda Civic, because we left his car behind.  We were accustomed to living on very little as students so having one car wasn’t as painful as it might have been otherwise.  In fact, in the city, where it is difficult to find parking for which one has to pay, any car instantly becomes more expensive.

Welcome to my site.  I hope you find it helpful and above all else, inspiring.  Please leave comments, good and bad.
